Humbird releases single, 'North Country Girl'

Today, Humbird shares new single, North Country Girl, a repsonse to Bob Dylan’s Girl from the North Country.

‘Bob Dylan's 'Girl From The North Country" is an iconic song. I sang the song for years while traveling far and wide away from my own home in the North Country. Eventually, though, I began to wonder about the story within the lyrics from her perspective. What would she say to this long-lost lover who left the north but still sings of her? As the song developed, it became an expression of the haunting beauty of northern climates and the power behind choosing to stay. The folk music tradition is riddled with songs about traveling, the road, the rambling spirit. This song explores the opposite. What does it mean to remain in a particular landscape? What does it signify when someone chooses to stay, even when it's hard?’ - Siri Undlin (Humbird)

Seems we’re already having an eventful year over at Five Head! In case you’re not already familiar with them, please let us introduce you to Humbird, an ever-seeking musical project led by all-around creative, Siri Undlin.

Today they released a new single, ‘Help Me Willie Nelson!’ about the ways we’re pushed and pulled in a chaotic world. A lighthearted romp of a song that nods to a classic Americana sound of summertime, open roads, and the legend himself. This release also marks their first release on Nettwerk.

Looking forward to all the wanderings and wonderings together!
