FHE is an artist management firm. We began in western North Carolina, grew in Albuquerque, New Mexico and currently call the NC Triangle home.
We assist hard working, talented artists in need of full-on career management and development.
THE LONG STORY
Many folks search a lifetime for their passion; Jimmy Rhine has known since high school. Instead of wanting to turn up an amp and jam, he was encouraging musician friends to book shows - to spend a little more time working on new music and a little less time getting stoned and watching the Price is Right. This rolled into working at local venues, promoting concerts and DJing on the local radio station while finishing college.
After receiving his bachelor's in communications from Lenoir-Rhyne University, Jimmy immediately hit the road as tour manager for the Carolina Chocolate Drops, an old-time string band based out of Durham, NC. In 2011, after a few years of heavy touring, Jimmy decided to move forward full time with Five Head and artist management.
The name Five Head was conceived from a long-running joke. Jimmy, like many others, is afflicted with a fivehead (i.e. as opposed to a forehead), and in absence of a name that felt sentimental or cutting edge for better or worse, it stuck. Like the name suggests, FHE is a fine balance of professionalism that doesn’t compromise our sense of fun and independence.
With over a decade of experience in the music business, the majority of which has been in full-time artist management, Jimmy has often asked himself what makes Five Head different from other management companies?
FHE is a small company that cares deeply about our artists. Five Head, along with each partner we work with, whether it be agents, publicists, or labels, is rooting for our artists and celebrates their victories, however big or small. We're committed to growing lasting careers that balance artists’ personal and professional lives in a way that is custom-fit to each individual. We firmly believe in our artists defining what success looks like for themselves. We can look at metrics and charts all day (and trust us, we do love data!), but ultimately, a successful career is more than just how many Spotify streams or Instagram followers you have. To us, a successful career is one in which the artist has all the tools to share their work to the extent they want it to be shared, express themselves honestly, and feel artistically fulfilled. We work directly with our artists to build actionable goals to meet their long-term vision.
Since 2011, FHE's client list has included Grammy winners and garage bands. Ultimately, it is Jimmy’s passion for and endless enthusiasm for music that drives his dedication to Five Head.
